Casting
In our production we decided to cast 3 different actors which consist of 2 males and 1 female. The 2 males consist of the main lead character who has to lip sync and the guy who the girl is having an affair with. Two of these characters are important in the music video as they will convey the comparisons between the two as they will both will be with the girl. We want to compare their emotion, one of happiness and another of betrayal. We were looking for certain characteristics for the males such as the ethnicity of the characters, their height and their body build.
Rahat:
Rahat was our first choice to play the main character as he was familiar with the song and was confident with lip syncing.He also looked around 20 which meant that he looked mature.
Rahat was an A2 student last year so will be able to let us know how we can improve our production even firther.
However, due to work and other commitments rahat may not be available to film .
Tho:
Tho was a potential candidate to play the person who the female was having an affair with. We felt he would be able to play this character effectively as he is from a different ethnic background so the audience will easily be able to differentiate between the two characters. Also as we worked with him in year 12 we felt he could successfully act out the role and also be able to effectively work with our group.
Anisha:
When we were looking for an actress we were looking for someone who was familiar with the song and will be able to act out the scenes we story boarded effectively. This made Anisha our first choice as she possessed both these characteristics. Even though we was not looking for a certain ethnicity that our actress needed to be we would have preferred an asian ethnic actress as it would have suited the music video.
Shaj:
When we were looking for an actor we needed certain characteristics like being able to familiarise yourself with the song and able to effectively lip sync to it. Also the actor needed to be of an Asian ethnic background as our research into Hindi/R&B music videos often had an asian titular main character. This is why i put myself forward as i held these characterestics. We agreed that i was second choice just in case our first actor dropped out due to any reasons that he may have.
